This Safe Haven

Welcome to The Haven! My name is Heather and this is my "safe haven," where I document the daily going on's of the Shults' clan, my attempts at cooking, exploring of a new city and sharing pictures & such of the boys.

This is a great way for us to share, our hopes to inspire, and learn from our discoveries of this life we've been so graciously given!

One day at a time, we will Explore Dream Discover!

ABOUT ME AND MY FAMILY...

As I've been introduced, I'm Heather. I'm a  inhabitant of the great city, Cincinnati, but I will always be a Southern girl; having been born and raised in Charleston, SC.
I met my husband, Jason, in the Holy City and we've been married for 10 years. We've had our ups and downs, as do a lot of marriages, but we always seem to conquer through it all. I've enjoyed the ups most definitely and have learned from the downs. We were blessed in August 2007 with a little boy, Kainen. Now at the age of 9, he has grown into this hilarious, strong willed boy (he keeps us on our toes) , whom we love with all our heart! I was blessed to be able to spend the first two years of his life being a stay at home mom, I wouldn't have had it any other way. We made Kainen a big brother in September 2012, as we welcomed our second son, Noah. He is a spit fire and always competing with his older brother. and quite entertaining! We completed our family in 2016 when we welcomed another precious boy, Apollo, into this crazy world. As a new mom of three boys, I feel like I'm learning something new every day. Most importantly, that I will have no nice things and never a clean house :)
I'm currently working full time as the Education Director at a local childcare facility. Although it has it's drawbacks, it's a very rewarding job. Being able to watch a child grow and to be a part of their life..to help them learn and prosper, it's a great feeling. I also enjoy the communication and relationships I have with the families enrolled. My husband is a retired Navy Nuclear Electrician, having been injured during his service. He currently works for a local Cable Company, working his way up the ladder, supporting this interesting family of ours!
My passion is my relationship with my Savior, my family and my friends. I also love NFL Football (GO BENGALS/BEARS/STEELER), guilty pleasures called reality television, learning about our city we call home, McD's Frappes, Cookie Cakes and laughter among my friends and family.
I look forward to making new friends in the blog world and being able to share our lives and stories with those around us, old and new!
